Personality: Professionally, Theoren has a conflicting personality. He is driven to succeed, however suffers from a mild inferiority complex due to his childhood and his relationship with his estranged brother. He is extremely intelligent, interpolating and extrapolating information with ease, however he often lacks the confidence to assert his conclusions in a given situation. He is, however, calm and levelheaded, and very dependable.

Personally, Theoren is a bit of a recluse. He enjoys and seeks out solitude, however, he is still very personable and friendly. He is unlikely to join a group unless invited, however, if invited, he will quickly become the center of attention. His ironic sense of humor and easy laugh are always a favorite. He also has a sensitive and soft side, capable of great empathy and caring.

Appearance: Theoren is, in a word, nondescript. Nothing about him stands out as a striking feature. He is of average height, average weight, and his hair is always well groomed. He occasionally has a bit of five-o'clock shadow, and his wavy dark hair does get unmanageable from time to time, but nothing extraordinary. His facial expression is by and large very neutral, but he does have a very warm and inviting smile, when he chooses to show it.

Taken individually, Theoren is a collection of very regular features. Taken as a whole, however, he is very handsome, and has a rugged by reserved look to his face. His eyes are an indeterminate mix of green and brown, but are amazingly expressive. His hands are rugged and scarred, but very deft at controls or finite tasks. He is, by all accounts, handsome.

Physical Health: Theoren is in excellent physical health, with two exceptions. One, his cardiovascular system is phenomenal, due mostly to his love for playing hockey; and two, his blood pressure is borderline low, which does cause the occasional complication.

Mental Health: By and large, Theoren is mentally healthy. He is a well adjusted individual who is agreeable and friendly, and handles stressful situations very well. The one flaw in his mental health is his immediate family. Memories of his father give his an excessively guilty conscience, and his mother gives him an intense inferiority complex. His brother creates an environment in which Theoren feels he is unnaturally at competition with everything, and may cause Theoren to make rash decisions. His Starfleet Psych testing documented all of these tendancies, however, due to the estranged nature of his relationship with his family, they regarded the effects on his performance as negligible.

Emotional Health: Theoren is an emotionally healthy individual. With the exception of the above incidents, he is an emotionally functioning human being, being both aware of his emotions, and how he needs to deal with them.

Important Events in his Life:
Theoren was the second child of two of the most promising young Warp Field theorists at the Utopia Planetia Fleetyards. His older brother, Ian, was the more promising student as the boys grew up, and Theoren's parents put more of their energies into raising Ian. He fulfilled their dreams by following in their footsteps and becoming a Warp Field Theorist.

Theoren was left on his own, and grew to admire the interstellar adventures of Captain James T. Kirk, and a young and brash Captain named Jean-Luc Picard. Theoren entered Starfleet Academy and graduated at the top of his class, receiving high marks not only in Piloting, but also in the Engineering disciplines.

During his first posting on the USS Miranda, his father was killed in an accident while working on the new Soverign Class warp engine. Joan retired shortly thereafter, but continued to live at the Fleetyards with Ian, to help him with his career. Shortly after, Theoren was posted to the Octavian, where he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant j.g. by then-Rear Admiral Toroca.

When Toroca and Elly Cook were married, Theoren took shore leave and returned to his childhood home. After making peace with his conflicted feelings regarding his parents, he re-entered Starfleet Academy to pursue a commission as an Engineer. Upon his graduation, he took several short term commissions before accepting a position as Chief Engineer on board the Octavian. Shortly after his arrival, the Octavian was destroyed. He escaped on an escape pod, and was rescued.

After his rescue, he took an extended leave of absence, and returned to Earth. After several months of leave, he accepted another position under now-Commodore Toroca and Captain Reilly, on board the USS Dragonstar, as Chief of Operations.
