Personality: A bright and well raised woman with a sarcastic sense of humour and radiating pride. She seems almost fearless in her actions and never thinks twice about any decision she has made. Caring individual with strong beliefs, though she is not narrow-minded and is willing to listen to anyone. Has very little tolerance for ineffeciency and laziness, and likes there to be harmony in her work environment.

She hides a slightly troubled emotional health with sarcastic remarks and sharp wit. Recent events in her life have caused her to be a bit more withdrawn and not as social as she used to be. Everything she does seems to have an edge of grace and ease to it, while at the same time being efficient and eerily precise.

Appearance: A little above average height with an average build. Over all toned musculature. Her blonde hair is cut just below her shoulders and she alternates between keeping it pinned up loosely or letting it hang down in a wavy, bob-like fashion. Her green eyes are eerily lit with their amber highlights, giving her a piercing and sometimes unsettling gaze when pointed directly at you. She has a 'cute,' small nose that rides rather long and meets well formed lips. Her cheek bones are set high with her eyes large and almond shaped. Graceful figure, and dainty hands with quite long fingers.

Remnants of her Borg assimilation of more than a decade ago are noticeable and include an occular implant around her left eye, an exo-skeleton on her right hand, and smaller implants under her right ear and base of her skull. They stand-out rather openly against her pale peach complexion and naturally rosy cheeks.

Important Events in her Life:
Born in 2342 to farming parents on the coast of England, she was the second-oldest of four children. She was raised in a rather traditional fashion, of home-cooking, grace at dinner and stories around the fire-place. Her parents instilled in her the need to preserve heritage and history, giving her a strong sense of pride in her bloodlines and roots. It is no doubt Elly is extremely family-orientated and enjoys down-to-earth traditions.

She attended the Cambridge University (the only child to do so) straight after graduation from high school, and obtained a Bachelor of Science majoring in Biology and minoring in Zoology. She prided herself in being able to keep a balance between being advancing, and keeping her roots at the same time. She would be the only member of her family to leave England, let alone join Starfleet. This made her parents slightly upset, but they supported their daughter's will to be a Starfleet Scientist.

After Cambridge, she attended Starfleet Academy. It was here during her second year she met her future husband, Daniel Soong. The two married mere weeks after their respected graduations. They were assigned to the same starbase, and it was here Elly gave birth to her first child, Jeriemiah Adam Brian.

Daniel was transfered two years later, just as Elly was about to give birth to their second child, Hannah Pamela. He saw her birth over video feed on his new assignment on the USS Tracker as a Cybernetics Specialist.

With her two children, Elysia was transfered at the rank of Lieutenant to the USS Manitoba. Daniel managed a transfer to the Manitoba as an Operations Officer, and they stayed together on the Manitoba.

While pregnant with their third child, the couple was transferred apart for a second time. It was during Elysia's transport that the battle of Wolf 359 began, and her transport was caught in the middle of it. They managed to dock at Luna, but not before the Borg attempted assimilation of the crew, Elysia and the vessel. it was easily reversible, but the brief invasion haunted Elysia.

After brief time at a medical center on Luna, Elysia was transfered to the USS Hanover, where she gave birth to Peter Douglas.

Daniel Soong went missing two years after Peter's birth on a routine mission. Elysia fought to find him, but in the end he was presumed MIA, and she was forced to raise the children on her own. Finding her concentration lacking, she sent the children to live on Earth with her parents for their own sake. About six months later, Elysia recieved a transfer request for the USS Octavian as Chief Science Officer.

It was the assignment of a lifetime, and Elly jumped at it. Unfortunately, her first mission was disastrous. The Octavian came in contact with the Borg, and dormant, previously unknown implants became active in Elysia. She beamed to the Borg Cube, and was reassimilated. She led an attempt to assimilate the Octavian, which failed. She was rescued and restored, but the mental and emotional pain from that incident she still harbours today.

She served the Octavian proudly afterwards, and struggled with her Assistant, Toroca. The two clashed often, having differing opinions on nearly everything. They soon formed a love-hate relationship. It was around this time that she brought the kids back to live with her.

Her husband was located during her last year as the CSO on the Octavian. He had re-married and started a new life with another crewmember of his old ship. Elly was disgusted, and the two found they lacked anything in common. She granted him an immediate divorce if he gave up custody of the children. He complied.

Soon, emotional and mental stress became too much, and Elysia left active duty. She returned to schooling to obtain her M.D.

She returned to the Octavian as CMO, and suddenly found different sparks flaring between herself and her ex-assistant, Toroca. During a shuttle mishap, he was forced to mind-meld with her in order to save her life, and their affection for each other became apparent. A relationship blossomed afterwards that would soon lead to their marriage, and birth of a son, Stephen.

During a mission invovling Romulan espionage, a Romulan-Borg sect attempted to recruit Elysia to be a double agent. She declined, and her son Jeremiah was killed. He was buried in England beside Elysia's grandparents in an old family plot.

After years of faithful service, Elysia decided Starfleet wasn't for her. She became a civilian/medical advisor and remained with Toroca, now the commanding officer.

During a later mission, while protecting her children, Elysia was killed by a Borg disruptor blast to her midsection. She was pronounced dead in Sickbay. Stuck in mid-mission and not capable of transporting her body, Elly was placed in stasis until her body could be claimed to be taken to England.

Unseen to even the scanners, the nanoprobes and Borg implants remaining in her body took advtange of her stasis-prone self, and began repairing the damage to her body, due to the fact that the stasis field kept her from physically deterioating. About six months after she died, she re-awoke in Sickbay on Starbase Avalon Prime when the stasis field was lowered.

Elysia suffered irreprable mental scarring from the incident, and horrible memory damage which took over a year to be reversed. She only recognised her children and her husband at first. Through thorough treatment and much care, Elysia was found capable of resuming duty, and was re-instated as the Chief Medical Officer at the rank of Commander.

In 2381, she was offered command of the USS Jonas Salk, a Nebula Class medical research vessel. She and Toroca discussed the opportunity at length, and in the end both agreed that she should take the position. The benefits were numerous, not the least of which was that the children would be permitted to live aboard the ship with their mother. Both she and Toroca much preferred that option over the alternative of having Elly's parents continue to raise the kids FOR them. Further, the Salk would spend most of it's time deep within Federation space, making it a much safer environment for the kids. Elly accepted Starfleet's offer and took command of the Salk in January of 2381.
