Personality: It is commonly joked that Xavier has no personality. While not at all accurate, Cillinth is not a particularly interesting person to get to know. His voice is a fairly flat monotone and he rarely strays in conversation beyond his beloved biology as a subject. Biology was the only thing that Xavier ever excelled in when he was young and while he is quite competent at several other things (for example he is an excellent driver of ground vehicles, especially over rough terrain) he feels that biology is the only thing that people respect him in.

Concerning things biological, Xavier is known as the complete expert on the ship, if not the Federation. He often consults with sickbay for the sick or injured but lacks the fine hand movement for surgery or the bedside manner for general duties.

In short, Xavier Cillinth is boring and the butt of several jokes. But no one is too critical of him as they know that one day they may need his expertise.

Appearance: Xavier's hair is thinning a little but still covers his entire head, it is white and a little shaggy looking. He is usually one of the most tanned members of the crew as he tries to get off of the ship on every stop to examine the native flora and fauna, he never really stops working. His skin is deeply lined and somewhat wrinkled but this gives him a rugged, weathered appearance.

Physical Health: Good. His continuous chasing of life forms on every planet keeps him relatively fit. However, high exposure to the elements has also caused a number of injuries. His right leg which was broken during one such expedition gives him difficulties in low pressure, cold or humid conditions. His left hand was bitten by a Rock'na and periodically will break out into an open sore. Xavier also has numerous scars.

Mental Health: He has an underlying confidence problem which drives him to work harder and harder.

Emotional Health: Stable.

Important Events in his Life:
Xavier was the only child of his fathers first marriage. At the time, his father was a construction engineer in Bristol, England. When Xavier was seven his mother was killed when visiting Xavier's father at the work site. A structure collapsed killing her and two other workers. While Rakin was cleared of all responsibility he felt incredible guilt over it and for several years. During this time he was not the most attentive of fathers. Xavier also missed his mother and sought solace in the last thing she told him, 'study hard at biology Xavier', as he had a test coming up the next week. Ever since Xavier has been studying hard at biology.

At various levels of school, Xavier won many awards due to his talent and hard work. He won a scholarship to Federation Science Headquarters to study which he took up. His father re-married and things began to go well for both of them once again. His brother and sisters are only half-siblings but he is on friendly terms with them.

While on the Octavian, Xavier met a Betazoid assistant counselor named Amila. She was able to see into his mind and knew that he was worth far more than he seemed. She also respected that his mind was filled with delight which he never really articulated. She loved him and soon they were married. They had a daughter whom Amila named Kellora and by this time it became apparent who the dominant partner was. Despite his rank and ability, Amila bossed him constantly often coming to the science department to tell him what to do.

Amila was unfortunately taken by the Borg when the Octavian was invaded by them after they attempted to open a wormhole to the Alpha Quadrant. Cillinth spent many nights mourning and couldn't help but draw a parallel with his mother's death. He is now attempting to be a better father to his daughter and has even won some popularity in science by bringing her to the lab occasionally with him.

The loss of the Octavian some time later was hard for Xavier, in part because his new assignment, the Dragonstar, doesn't allow civilians aboard during missions. He has seriously considered requesting a reassignment so that he could spend more time with his daughter. For now, though, he talks to her via subspace every day, and spends every leave with her.
