Personality: At first meeting, Hensley is quiet, cautious and generally reserved. Do not mistake this for shyness. He is calculating and manipulative, but seldom cruel. After becoming comfortable in a friendship with someone he becomes more open, enthusiastic and flamboyant, but he never loses control of his senses; his tongue never slips.

Appearance: Lieutenant Commander Hensley is best described as average. His physical attributes are not outside of norms for his age and race; however, he does maintain his body through a careful, self-regulated martial arts program. Otherwise, he easily blends into the crowd.

Physical Health: Lieutenant Commander Hensley is physically healthy and capable of undertaking his duties in their full extent. He suffers mild headaches on occasion, and more serious headaches under high stress situations. They are believed to be the result of previous head trauma during field operations, and can be treated with a mild sedative. His ability to function as an officer does not seem threatened. - Commander Giles Monroe, M.D.

*While there is some truth to the supposed caused of Agent Hensley's headaches, they are more likely a side effect of long term use of a supplemental drug prescribed for certain agents of Starfleet Intelligence. - Lieutenant Marlon Detrick, SI Medical

Mental Health: Lieutenant Commander Hensley's state of mental health is normal. He often suffers from over-stressing himself. His ability to function in positions of command and under-duress is promising. - Lt. Commander Katherine Mendez

Emotional Health: Lieutenant Commander Hensley, while quirky, is psychologically fit for duty. The loss of his biological parents does not seem to weigh too heavily on him, though he holds slight animosity towards Romulans. His psychological analysis, however, does not indicate that this animosity results in any prejudice which would affect his ability to act as a command officer. He seems generally uncomfortable entering into meaningful romantic relationships, though he is quite the charmer when it befits his interest. - Lieutenant Alexander Nole, M.D., Ph.D.

Important Events in his Life:
Jonathan Rone Hensley is the only child of the late Commander and late Dr. Devry. At the time of their meeting, Dr. Rone Devry was serving as a specialist in anthropology aboard the USS Leona. He studied at the University of London on Earth where he met Grant and Renee Hensley. At the time of his death in 2355, Dr. Devry was survived by only his son. Lieutenant Commander Bethany Lynn was serving as the Assistant Chief Science Officer of the Leona when she met Rone Devry. Her family was strictly opposed to her decision to join Starfleet, and disowned her shortly after she enrolled at the Academy.

They married in late 2352 and Jonathan was born the following November. He was named Jonathan Rone Devry; the Hensleys agreed to be his godparents. In 2355, the USS Leona was assigned to a mission near Romulan space. Jonathan was left in his godparents' care and was later adopted by the Hensleys after the USS Leona disappeared, all hands presumed dead.

*The USS Leona was assigned to investigate a small Neutral Zone civilization which had begun interstellar travel. Starfleet Intelligence assigned the Leona to carry Federation diplomats in a covert membership negotiation. Starfleet lost contact with the Leona shortly after it made contact with the civilization. Foul play on the part of the Romulan Star Empire is speculated; however, no recourse was initiated by the Federation due to its part in inappropriate behavior regarding the Neutral Zone.

Renee and Grant accepted Jonathan as their own child. As the son of a medical doctor and a scholar, Jonathan was brought up with his nose in books. He learned to read sooner than most children his age and was starting to learn the basic principles of calculus in early elementary school. He received his Ph.D. and lesser degrees in Mathematics from the University of London at the age of twenty. Soon after, with the support of his parents, he enrolled at Starfleet Academy.

When Cadet Hensley expressed a desire to study tactical analysis he was quickly targeted for advanced training in security and tactics, and for potential optioning by Starfleet Intelligence. He excelled like none other in theoretical tactical analysis, doing important work for the war-effort in his first two years at the academy.

His love of the martial arts was also developed at the Academy. His security training, while it focuses around computer sciences, required a great deal of physical training.

He graduated from the Academy in the Class of 2376, a year early, when he accepted commission as Lieutenant (junior grade) with Starfleet Intelligence. In 2379, he was enrolled in Starfleet Command School, and he joined the staff of the USS Dragonstar in 2382 at the rank of Lieutenant Commander. His tenure on the Dragonstar was extremely short-lived. Starfleet Intelligence recalled Lt. Cmdr. Hensley and assigned him to a special project with Starfleet Security. The project took approximately a year and a half and at its conclusion, Lt. Cdr. Hensley was transfered back to the USS Dragonstar. He was just in time to join the crew in an adventure into unchartered space.

*Starfleet Intelligence assigned Lieutenant (junior grade) Jonathan Hensley to work in cryptology and other fields of data analysis while he underwent intelligence training. After completing his training, he was assigned to a series of missions on Cardassia to recover, compile and analyze useful data regarding the Dominion. He uncovered several minor intelligences of importance, but largely the mission was unsuccessful.

*He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant shortly thereafter. This was not due to his work on Cardassia, but rather an incident which happened during his return voyage. After overhearing several rumors aboard the Galaxy Class vessel on which he was traveling, he began to investigate what he thought was a possible computer-security breach. What seemed to be minor computational flaws throughout the ship, turned out to be an intricate system of covert data transmission. It seemed that someone had been 'spying' on Starfleet. The data later implicated a small sect of the former-Obsidian Order.

*After several similar missions, Starfleet Intelligence moved Lieutenant Hensley to Starfleet Command School. He passed in timely fashion and spent additional time honing his skills in strategic tactics, engineering & piloting. After leading several clandestine missions, he has been rotated to a more mainstream, fleet assignment until an intelligence-command assignment becomes available.

*Shortly after Lt. Cmdr. Hensley was assigned to the USS Dragonstar, a maximum security Federation Prison was seized from within. The Director of the Federation Department of Correction turned to Starfleet Security, which turned to Starfleet Intelligence, for assistance in excising control of the prison from the inmates. Hensley was appointed to the joint task force assigned to retake the prison. He served under the Task Force Commander as Commander of Operations.

Friends:
Friendships are often hard to establish and maintain in Starfleet Intelligence.

Likes:
Lieutenant Commander Hensley grew rather fond of Cardassians and many aspects of their culture during his time on their home world. He plays the piano, violin and practices martial arts.

Dislikes:
As stated before, he is slightly biased against Romulans.

Goals for Life: An officer in Starfleet Intelligence is familiar with goals and goal setting; however, they mostly apply to the mission at hand and not one's own future. If an agent is thinking of his personal future, goals tend toward self-gain through whatever means present themselves first. Lieutenant Commander Hensley is of the first type. He has not given his future much thought, though he feels command is the most likely path.
