Marital Status: Married Mother(biologically): Alanna of Vulcan (deceased) Father(biologically): Suvek of Vulcan (deceased) Mother(by adoption): Admiral Marcia Dimitrius, XO of USS Dasheter Father(by adoption): Fleet Admiral Michael Dimitrius, CO of USS Dasheter Sisters: None Brother(by adoption): Captain Jason Dimtrius, CO of USS Eisenhower Spouse: Elysia Cook Sons: Stephen Cook, Peter Cook Daughters: Hannah Cook Pets: Kardrak named Alanna, after his mother Personality: Toroca is not a typical Vulcan, that much is certain. He was raised by humans after age five, and thus had no real exposure to Vulcan culture or traditions. His adoptive parents did their best, but it's hard to teach a culture you haven't experienced. They were out of their element. Therefore, the emotional control that most Vulcans adhere to is mostly lacking in Toroca. He used to act more like a human than a typical Vulcan, although in recent years he's learned some additional control. In crisis situations he tends to use more rigorous control, appearing mostly emotionless until the immediate crisis is over. He also tends to adopt Vulcan methods when he wishes to seem more commanding, because the control seems to add to his authority. When he's with close friends or family he lets his control level down, often appearing no different than a typical human in terms of demeanor and emotionality. Toroca makes friends fairly easily, moreso than most Vulcans. This is due to the less rigid control he displays. To non-Vulcans, he appears more accessible than most are. For the most part, he's an easygoing guy, although if you push him, you may regret it. Additionally, Toroca is a fiercely loyal person. He will fight to the death to protect himself, his family, his friends, his crew, or the Federation, from any threats. Appearance: The first thing anyone notices about Toroca is usually his height. At 7'4", he towers over most people, and that tends to lend authority to his position as the Dragonstar's Commanding Officer as well. The second thing most people notice are his piercing blue eyes, which are unusual for a Vulcan. If he focusses directly on you for a few moments, it seems as if he can see right through you. This has the unfortunate side effect of making the junior officers uncomfortable in his presence. Overall, Toroca is tall and muscular, and is quite agile, even for a Vulcan. His black hair emphasizes his eyes and face, and his elegantly pointed ears make his heritage easily apparent. Physical Health: Toroca is in excellent physical health. His immune system is very strong, and he's never had any major diseases. His internal clock is out of whack, due to exposure to a radiation pulse at a young age. He ages faster than regular Vulcans, although at what rate is a mystery since it never seems to remain the same for long. Rather than the 200 years typical of his race, medical experts who've studied his case expect him to live somewhere between 125 and 150 years, barring any unfortunate accidents in the line of duty. Mental Health: He is quite sane. He has a good knowledge of the inner workings of his mind, due to training on Vulcan in his childhood. Emotional Health: He is stable, though he's occasionally had problems in the past, for varying reasons.

Important Events in his Life For the next year, Toroca was taught by his parents aboard the Avenger. A day came when the Avenger was attacked by an unknown enemy. Since the ship was near the Romulan border at the time, Starfleet has long assumed that the Avenger was attacked by a Romulan ship, although this was never confirmed. During the attack, the ship's warp core was damaged, and a breach was imminent. Toroca's mother managed to get him into an escape pod and launched before the core exploded, but Toroca's pod was the only one that escaped the blast. The Avenger had managed to send off a brief distress call before the core exploded, and the Starship Kyushu located Toroca's escape pod a few days later. They took him back to Starfleet Headquarters to confirm his identity, and also to decide what to do with him. His parents had been the last of his family, and with them dead, Toroca had no relatives left who could take care of him. He was put up for adoption, and it didn't take long before Marcia and Michael Dimitrius took him in. The couple was unable to have children of their own, and they had already adopted a human baby a few years before, whom they'd named Jason. Toroca was happy with his new family, and progressed rapidly. By age 12, Toroca had demonstrated a remarkable ability with computers and science in general. At age 14, he applied and was accepted to Lansing's, a branch of the Daystrom Institute for the gifted in those very subjects, and he did very well. At age 18, he graduated 4th in his class, and began planning for his future. Around this time, he was approached by a recruiter from the V'Shar, Vulcan Secret Security. They knew of his skill with computers, and wanted to recruit him into their computer sciences division as an intelligence agent. He took some time to consider the idea, and eventually joined. This initially caused some problems with his family, as his parents didn't like the idea of their son being essentially a spy. Jason, however, supported Toroca's choice. That in itself wasn't all too surprising, since the two had become very close over the years, in part because of the fact that they were both adopted. A few years after he joined the V'Shar, Toroca came to the conclusion that he wanted to join Starfleet, and explore the stars. He applied at the Academy and was accepted. He graduated from the extended courses eight years later at age 29, and was assigned to Earth Spacedock as a computer technician. He was part of a team that helped modify Spacedock's aging computer systems to be more compatible with those such as bio-neural systems found on the newer types of starships being designed and produced. At age 30, he was transferred to the Excelsior Class USS Reknown as a science officer. He was just a basic science officer at the time, but it was one of the happiest days of his life, as he was finally going to realize his dream of exploring the galaxy. His parents, both in Starfleet themselves, were also quite proud of him. By now, Michael had become a Fleet Admiral, in charge of Galaxy Wing of the 12th fleet, and Commanding Officer of the USS Dasheter, the prototype Dasheter Class Starship. Marcia was a Captain, and the Executive Officer of the same ship. Jason had also joined Starfleet, and was serving on the Galaxy Class USS Eisenhower. At age 34, he was transferred to the Sovereign Class USS Octavian to serve as the Assistant Science Officer. It was a big step up for him, as he now found himself often doing work on the bridge, and he developed a good working relationship and friendship with Fleet Admiral Mark Casey, the ship's CO. The Octavian's Chief Science Officer, Elly Cook, eventually left the ship, and Toroca moved up to replace her. As a department head, he had more responsibility, and it wasn't long before he decided to take some command courses by correspondance from the Academy. Elly came back to the ship some time later, this time as the Chief Medical Officer. There came a time when the two of them were on a mission together, and Elly was seriously injured. There was not much Toroca could do to save her, but he tried a mind meld to keep her consciousness alive. Surprisingly, (to him, anyway) it worked. To the shock of both of them, they discovered that they had developed feelings for each other that neither of them had been allowing themselves to express. They formed a sort of relationship, one that didn't really go anywhere for a while. That changed, however, when Toroca underwent his first Pon Farr. It caught him by surprise, because he was too young. But there was nothing else to be done about it. Elly stayed with him throughout it, and eventually it pushed their relationship further. Nine months later, their son, Stephen, was born. Toroca sent a full bioscan of himself to both Starfleet Medical and the Vulcan Medical Institute to see if they could find something anomalous about him, that might explain why he experienced Pon Farr earlier than normal. Neither is sure, but both suspect that it has something to do with a peculiar radiation pulse he was hit with when the Avenger's warp core exploded all those years ago. The pulse seems to have caused minor damage to his DNA, leading to faster aging than normal for a Vulcan. It is not yet known if this was passed on to Stephen. Around the time that the Dominion War began, Toroca started experiencing horrible nightmares that were literally destroying his mind. Ania Casey, then the ship's counselor and a very powerful telepath, helped him see the truth of the dreams. They had been triggered by sight of the Jem'Hadar, and with Ania's help, Toroca discovered that it was a Jem'Hadar ship, not a Romulan one, that had destroyed the Avenger when he was a child. Starfleet accepted this, because it answered several questions left by the Avenger's flight recorder that the Romulan theory just didn't fit. The only question now is how did a Dominion ship get the the Alpha Quadrant that long ago? Starfleet Intelligence suspects a temporary, unstable wormhole. At age 36, Toroca took command of the USS Octavian. Starfleet Command was reassigning Admiral Casey to a warship going behind Dominion lines, and with a little V'Shar influence, Starfleet decided to promote Toroca to Captain and place him in command. It wasn't long after that when Toroca and Elly finally got married. Because he now had a family to consider, Toroca left the V'Shar to keep the risk to himself and his family at a minimum. He does still maintain contact with some of his associates from the V'Shar, notably his former commander. In early 2374, the Octavian experienced a disastrous systems failure caused by an unknown energy field in the atmosphere of a planet it was investigating. The ship lost all control, and crashed into the planet's ocean. Much of the crew escaped in escape pods, although several hundred were killed. The survivors spent months stranded on the planet. Toroca was stranded with his infant son and Chief of Security Tahkris. The experience of literally depending on each other for survival brought the two of them much closer and they bonded as friends. Finally, the crew was rescued, primarily due to the help of a then-mysterious race called the Kirin. The Kirin also raised the Octavian from its resting place on the sea floor and helped restore it to operational capacity. Toroca and Elly adopted Tahkris as a sort of member of their family, and the kids see her as an aunt. In 2375, at age 38, Toroca was awarded the Star of Starfleet, for excellence in commanding the Octavian and successfully completing several dangerous missions during the Dominion War. Shortly afterward, he was also promoted to the rank of Rear Admiral. He was awarded a second Star of Starfleet not long after, for successfully getting the Octavian through a dangerous accidental excursion into an alternate universe. This mirror universe was nothing like the one Deep Space Nine's crew have experienced multiple times. In this one, Earth was destroyed in a planetary collision several billion years ago and the Federation never existed. Toroca's darkest day came in late 2377. A mission in the Gamma Quadrant went horribly wrong. The mission ended in failure, and the Octavian was totally destroyed. A court-martial found Toroca's actions during part of the mission questionable, and he ended up being demoted one rank to Commodore. During the same mission that took the Octavian, Toroca's cherished wife, Elly Cook, was murdered by the Borg, in front of his eyes. Toroca fell into a deep depression that lasted for weeks afterward. On starbase Avalon Prime, when the stasis field holding Elly's body was lowered so she could be transported to a ship that would take her back to Earth for burial, an attendant was scared out of his wits when Elly sat up and screamed at him. Long ago, Elly was rescued from the Borg, and doctors were never able to fully return her to human. The remaining Borg technology in her body had slowly repaired the damage she took from the more recent Borg attack, and since she was in stasis, there had been no tissue decay. When the stasis field was lowered, the Borg technology reactivated her as if she'd merely been asleep instead of deceased. Not long after, Toroca and many of his former crew from the Octavian were reassigned to a new ship, the Prometheus Class Starship Dragonstar. The Dragonstar's shakedown cruise ended up being much more than that, as the ship was diverted to assist the Starship Arizona in destroying a dangerous new long-range weapon being developed by a rising threat in the Border Territories, the Delkathi Theocracy. The mission was a sucess, but a lot of bugs were discovered in the Dragonstar's systems. Toroca received a Citation of Valor for his efforts against the Delkathi during this mission. Shortly afterward, the Dragonstar encountered a mirror universe in which certain events had gone awry. The Delkathi Theocracy had launched an all-out war against the other major powers of that universe, and the problem was that the war there was somehow spilling into our own universe. As it turned out, the war in the other universe had shattered subspace locally, creating rips that were allowing ships, and even entire fleets to cross back and forth from one universe to another. Eventually, the crew determined a method of sealing the fractures, separating the two universes once again. Toroca was, however, haunted by the devastation he'd witnessed in the other universe. The Delkathi were winning the war by wiping out entire star systems, and Toroca doubted he'd ever quite get over seeing such things. The Dragonstar dealt with a similar occurance on its very next mission. Interspatial rifts deposited some nasty creatures aboard, and Toroca and the other telepaths on the ship felt their arrival as the arrival of a "malevolent presence," but weren't able to define it more than that. The creatures turned out to be powerfully telepathic, as well as extremely dangerous. The Dragonstar had to leave the area and let other Starfleet vessels deal with the creatures, because of the high number of telepaths aboard, who were susceptible to the alien creatures' own telepathy. About a year later, Toroca's responsibilities increased significantly, as Starfleet assigned the Dragonstar as the flagship of Task Force 17, and put Toroca in command of the Task Force as well as the Dragonstar. The Task Force is part of the Border Patrol Division, and as such the Dragonstar spent much of the next year patrolling the Romulan Border, keeping the Imperial Navy in line in what had become a very turbulent period, in the wake of Shinzon's coup attempt on Romulus. Toroca, however, was recalled by Starfleet Intelligence to assist with an investigation on Vulcan, involving the V'Shar and a possible spy. The spy was captured, and Toroca returned with him to the Dragonstar. He, with the assistance of Captain Reilly, tried to get information from the prisoner regarding a second spy that was reportedly passing through the area with critical information, on his way back to Romulus. The other spy was never caught and to this day Intel is unsure whether he even existed. The prisoner committed suicide in the Dragonstar's brig. Another uneventful year passed for Toroca, with the ship spending most of its time on patrol and enforcement. They captured a known smuggler's vessel, and had a brief but violent encounter with five rogue Mogai Class Warbirds along the Romulan Border. It came as a great relief to Toroca when he received orders to bring the Dragonstar back to starbase 12 in preparation for departure on a long-range exploratory mission. Toroca had grown tired of combat and patrol, and a mission of exploration, he decided, was just what he and the crew had been needing.
